Meeting Minutes

December 8, 2010

Meeting Start time: 7:30 PM

New Business:

1.) Sharon Public Library

· Discussion regarding the status of the replacement of the front entry doors and repairs associated with the entrance.

· Barbra Nadler brought in photos of various types of glass for the entry doors for our review. The style they are interested in is a leaded glass design. The exact style has yet to be finalized.

· The purpose of the glass is to prevent the possibility of someone being struck by the door when being opened (the doors swing outward) and to also provide additional natural light into the vestibule.

· Also discussed was the need to make repairs and or replacement of the exterior trim surrounding the entry. The goal is to maintain as much of the existing as possible.

· Prior to beginning any of this work a final review of the finishes must be presented to the SHC.

· B. Rosenbaum made a motion to allow the replacement of the entry doors (each having a vision panel), type of glass TBD. Removal of the old framework for the screen doors and the transom above, Repair of the exterior pillars and trim (replacement as required). Final design and finishes to be presented to the SHC prior to commencement of work.

· S. Schofield seconded the motion, All in Favor

· October 13, 2010, B. Rosenbaum made a motion to accept minutes with corrections. S. Schofield seconded. All in favor

· November 10, 2010, B. Rosenbaum made a motion to accept minutes with corrections. S. Rich seconded. All in favor

      2.)         Preservation Award 2010

· D. Martin confirmed that the presentation would take place at the `Community Center on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at the beginning of the Selectmen’s Meeting.
